My Travel Story

Covid-19 has been a difficult time for many and that unfortunately includes me and my husband. 

 

My husband recently lost his job in hospitality, he had been in the industry for 22 years working right through to Head Chef level. 

 

I was running a recruitment business which I had to close as Covid meant a real lack of clients and no money coming through. 

 

Both of us have worked all of our lives and now find ourselves in a difficult situation trying to find work during covid and a recession. 

 

It can be stressful sometimes but we both have a dream and that dream is to travel and have freedom. 

 

One of the biggest worries that we have is our mortgage and we really want to rid ourselves of that and be more self sufficient. 

 

I have seen my husband become depressed since losing his job, redundancy is easy for no-one and he has a passion for travel especially the water and being self sufficient. 

 

We hope that we will find jobs soon so that we can start planning for our new beginning but any help we can get will mean we can start our journey much quicker. 

 

We are trying to raise money towards a van and/or travel costs, fuel  and our plan is to travel from UK to Norway, Finland, Russia, Latvia and then head over to India and settle for longer in Asia as it is an area we love and wish to explore in the longer term. 

 

We think a newer model rather than older would give us more miles on the clock although we would settle for a 2018 model of motorhome with 4 berths enough space for our fur baby and dog to join us on our adventure. 

 

We have plans to work once we are on the road in order to fund our lifestyle further and my hubby wants to use his head chef skills to create food in Asia as a job.
