My Travel Story

My mother was a Chicago Public School teacher for 30 years. She taught in one of the many underprivileged areas. Although, she was surrounded my gang members on a daily one thing she made sure they knew was; that she cared for each and every one of her students. I remember times where she would take a student shopping for clothes,hair care products, hygiene products and food regularly. She would make sure that her students were able to relax a little and focus on school even if it was only for 45 minutes she had them in her class. She tried to make her classroom a safe place for all of her students. Her students loved and respected her for that. 
She gave much more than her salary could afford to  ensure her classroom had all the supplies needed for students that did not have supplies and that it was always a warm and inviting, place for her students. This often meant spending extra from our household and vacation expenses.
My mother always wanted to go to Disneyland. She took us to Disney World, but was unable to take us to Disneyland. My sisters and I would love to be able to make that wish come true. Although, My mother passed in March 2021 due to covid we would still like to make that wish come true.
