My Travel Story

by: David Ortiz Start Date: May 31, 2014 - End Date: Jul 3, 2014
Saludos desde Peru!

My name is David Ortiz and Im currently doing research and an intership at a treking company in Cusco through the Latin American Department at SDSU. I have worked multiple jobs, borrowed money and made deals with the devil just to pay for the expensive ticket to get here.

I bearly have enough money to survive and probably make it back home, but not much for anything else. Im used to bumming it, I dont need a fancy tourist experiance to have a good time. But it would be nice not to worry about being stuck in a bad situation because I wanted to experiance some of the things I should be doing since I am here, like going to Machu Pichu and what not. Im probably going to Back-Pack it there with a sleeping bag and a pair of chonis.

I dont like to make promises that I cant keep, but I would like to get everyone that helps me out an awesome gift from Peru! Any little bit of money helps, or if people want something specific, let me know and I will make it happen. From socks to alpacas, aver que pasa.

A little bit about myself. I am a first generation immigrant, high school graduate and college student. I was born in Tijuana, Mexico and grew up in Logan, San Diego, California. I am about to gradaute in year from State and I will be going directly into my Dual Masters Program in Public Administration and Latin American Studies.

This Intership is going to help me get into grad school because I'm doing some of the work I should be doing there at an undergrad level. The only thing is that I do not have a major source of funding unlike the glamorous lifes of graduate stundents (I know I have lama jokes, but please bear with me, get it, Lama).

Por favor and please, if you could help me out with a few bucks, I would really appreciate it.

Muchos Thank You's!
SINceramente,

David
