My Travel Story

Cecilia was chosen to play in All-American D-Day Band, a band picked from students from all over the United States. She is very honored to be a part of this band and to be a part of its history. There are 125 band members all taking the same journey. The All-American D-Day Band experience will provide a once-in-a-life-time musical and educational experience, and give these All-Americans the opportunity to represent our country in D-Day ceremonies and events. She will start her adventure off in Washington, DC with rehearsal and uniform fitting. Then she will make her first performance at the WWII Memorial in Washington, DC. Then she will get to visit the Arlington National Cemetery. From there she will fly to France. While in France the band will get to visit D-Day 360 Museum in Arromanches, Louvre Museum, Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, le Mont St. Michel, and Sainte-Mere-Église. The band will perform at the American Cemetery in Brittany and Omaha Beach as well as in Sainte-Mere-Église, and take part in the Musical Salute to Liberation. Cecilia will also take part in a D-Day Memorial Parade. This trip will provide her with working with some great band instructors and students. This has a great potential to help her get college scholarships and life lessons. We are very proud of her and so is her school district. This trip is expensive and could use your help if you feel inclined to help her. As many of you know Cecilia started working at Crumbl cookie this summer. She has raised some money on her own and still continues to work hard to her goal. She has hit a medical set back this summer, but we are working with her doctors to get her legs back to functioning while she isn’t working as many hours as she would have hoped.  Many thanks to Dawn Boly for taken Ceci's pictures!

  • Update 1/27/23

    I have updated the cost. We did receive a big donation from VFW of Arnold. We are so very thankful for their help! They have been amazing people to help us. Can't wait to show them pictures of Ceci's travels!
