Hey all! My name is Ava and I am currently studying to become a Spanish Interpreter. I hope to work in medical and legal fields in my home state of Michigan. This opportunity to study abroad will allow me to complete several of the class requirements for my B.A. in Spanish as well as provide me with several opportunities to immerse myself in the culture of Costa Rica. I have always loved learning languages and I believe that learning about the people and culture that goes with each language is equally important. As an interpreter there is a large aspect of trust required between myself and the client, and having cultural experience will help me communicate genuine care and understanding for them as people. As and out of state college student, I really appreciate any donation amount, and hope to use this opportunity to learn as much as I can and then share my experiences when I get back home.
