My Travel Story

Hello Everyone! I have created this page to share my upcoming opportunity! 

My name is Anne Carper and I am a current freshman at the University of Missouri. This will be a monumental year for me as I have been granted a wonderful opportunity to study abroad during the Spring 2021 semester! 

I will be studying at John Cabot University in Rome, Italy. While I am abroad, I will be taking 15 hours of school courses with classmates and international students. I am a Business - Finance major, so I will be taking a couple required courses, and an elective of my choice! My courses are Finance 3000, Statistics II, Management 3000, Accountancy II, and a Humanities Course. 

During my time abroad, I hope to improve on my academic skills by challenging myself in areas that are out of my comfort zone, gain a different perspective on the world around me, and appreciate the beauty in different cultures.

I will be living in an apartment in the city center of Rome with 2-8 other people in the program while abroad! One of the things that I am most excited for, however, is traveling on the weekends to surrounding cities such as Edinburgh, Scotland, Athens, Greece and Monte Carlo, Monaco. During spring break, I will also be vacationing in Paris, France. 

This trip and experience is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I have worked non-stop to make happen. To be able to continue my education abroad, and travel to different countries is something I can only dream about. But if I could get the help from you all, it would be amazing so I could make this dream a reality. I myself have been saving up for this trip with two jobs and would love the extra help! Anything helps! 

The total trip cost is approximately $30,000. This includes airfare, tuition, books and course fees, food, passport and visa, local transportation, and personal expenses. I have saved a portion from working, I have financial aid that covers a portion and I am applying for scholarships to possibly help fund some of the program. I hope to make this goal. Every little bit helps!
