The city’s heartbeat slowed as floodwaters surged, devouring homes, cars, and the fragile hopes of countless families. Cries for help pierced the stormy night as people clung to rooftops, while others—caught in the torrent’s cruel embrace—were swept away, their voices fading into the darkness. Lives were lost, dreams drowned beneath the rising tide, and the Queen City of the South wept for its fallen. The once-vibrant lights flickered out, leaving only the roar of the flood and the sobs of survivors. Yet even amid the devastation, Cebu’s spirit endured—its people bound together in grief and courage, praying for dawn to break through the storm’s merciless grip.
