My Travel Story

by: Anastasia coe Start Date: Aug 11, 2018 - End Date: Aug 10, 2019
Travelling to Costa Rica has been a goal of mine for a long time, my fascination has always been around sloths and once I heard about the Sloth Santuary in Costa RicaI knew it was somewhere I needed to travel to.

This will help with my furture studies as once I become a Zoologist i aim to specialise in Sloths, by doing this volunteer work I am going to be able to gain a further understanding of the natural environment that Sloths live in before i even start my studying!

While I am there I am planning to give my help where ever possible. I plan to be the best team member I can be. I thrive in situations that place me under pressure and I become very determined when I set my mind on something. I am very passionate about this volunteer work as Sloths are my all time favourite animal and at the rate we are cutting trees down the Sloths are rapidly losing their homes.

I chose this specific destination as I am able to witness Sloths in their natural environment instead of behind glass windows at a zoo. This is so meaningful to me as I am able to first hand experience how Sloths handle thmselves in the wild and how they have adapted to the wildlife around them. This trip has been a dream of mine for a while now, are you going to help me make it a reality?

  • Sloths!

I am grateful for the donations I have already received.
I very excited to go to Costa Rica in a couple of years to finally do something I have dreamed of doing for a very long time. By doing this volunteer work and gaining this experience I will have the knowledge to do some more non-profit volunteer work to help the conservation work.
I plan to use this experience to help and support my studies and give me that upper hand through university.
If you can contribute to my cause then I will forever be grateful, the smallest if donations means more than you could imagine.
  • First Half Term Finished

Finished my first half a term. And I'm getting even more excited for when I finish my course. I've now got a special zoology book on the way, so I'll be able to properly look into the biological structure and able to understand how sloths interact with their environment. By participating in this volunteer scheme it allows me to get ahead of my education before I even go to university. Your contribution would mean a lot as you are helping me set out my future before university, would mean a lot even if you contribute the smallest amount.
