To friends, family, and online community,
I’m excited to announce that I have been accepted into the Service Learning Program in Brazil where I’ll be immersing myself in the environmental, social, and cultural dynamics of the region of the Brazilian Amazon! This opportunity Is really importnat to me, as it allows me to learn from locals and contribute meaningfully to sustainable efforts that will improve the overall environment.

Why Acajatuba, Brazil?
The village of Acajatuba is home to a extraordinary biodiversity: towering kapok trees, vibrant orchids, pink river dolphins, and countless bird species that fill the canopy with color and sound. Yet, the Amazon is more than an ecological treasure-it is a living landscape. Indigenous and river communities along the Rio Petro have relied on its waters for generations, sustaining traditions of fishing, storytelling, and ecological stewardship that remind us of the deep bond between people and geography. Acajatuba provides me the incredible opportunity to improve sustainbilities in these local communities and to impact ecological or enviromental issues in a positive way.

Why do I need funds?
As a full time college student working 3 part time jobs, doing chemical research full time, is an officer in many clubs, and a active memebr in honors college most of my pay goes towards these academics. I have always wanted to travel away for a service project but have been cut short each time due to the lack of funds. I am asking for half of my program cost as I am still paying out of pocket for the remaining costs. Aid with funds will help me focus my sights on the sustainable efforts happening in Brazil rather than worrying about funding and in my situations anything counts!

How you can help!
My goals is to raise $1000 to cover the cost of my program, this covers things such as my plane ticket and hotel stay. I will be personally covering the costs of my other expenses. Your donation will directly contribute to the sustainable efforts happening in Acajatuba. I’m committed to sharing updates and photos during my time abroad so you can see the direct impact of your generosity.

This journey is one of both giving and learning, and I’m incredibly grateful for any financial support!
Thank you so much for helping me and if you wish to know more feel free to contact me!
