NWR returns to Berlin, Germany!
My Travel Story
My name is Verna NezBegay Volker , and I am the Executive Director of Native Women Running, an organization I founded in 2018 to create representation and opportunities for Native women runners. What started as a passion project has now grown into a nonprofit dedicated to supporting and uplifting Native women in the running community across the U.S. and Canada.
Our mission has even reached Berlin, Germany. Last year, one of our team leaders and I traveled there to participate in Koro’s Women’s Race, connecting with other running groups and sharing our stories as Native women. More importantly, this trip allowed us to build relationships with fellow Native relatives in the Berlin area.
This year, I am returning alone to continue these connections—strengthening relationships with running groups and Native runners in Germany. Your generous donations will help cover airfare and travel accommodations, allowing me to carry our mission forward and bring a piece of "home" to our Native relatives abroad.
Your support makes a difference. Thank you for believing in this work!
