My Travel Story

This year I want to celebrate my birthday differently. I don't remember celebrating a lot of birthdays to be honest but I guess I was stuck being 20 years old. This year I want to celebrate my birthday in Switzerland. Seeing pictures and watching vlogs about Switzerland helped me cope through life challenges. It made me feel alive.

I would like to share some of my life story. It's okay if you don't read this part. I will understand. The reason I'm sharing this is because I would like to be worthy of your help in any amount that you can.

I'm a proud immigrant. Everything I do in life is for my family. For the longest time, I did everything. How could I not? They're my family. It was fine by me until I woke up one day and realized I had done nothing for myself. When I look back and reflected on my twenties, I don't remember anything. I only remember going to work and going home. That was my life for almost a decade.

I was in denial for so long. The moment I accepted where I am in my life right now and where I wanted to be, I got depressed, and lonely and didn't know what to do. Pandemic happened. It really gave me a deeper perspective when it comes to navigating my life. When I started working on myself, I felt alone and overwhelmed. I knew I needed help but for someone who is used to being independent, asking for help is so so hard for me. It was a dark phase in my life. I know I'm alive but I don't feel like I'm alive. That's when seeing Switzerland from others through pictures and Vlogs helped me.

Fast forward to where I am now. I can't say I'm closer to the life I want. However, I'm proud to say that I'm so far from where I was 2 years ago. I'm still struggling but I'm more grateful than I was before.
