Help Tallulah Study Abroad In Thailand
My Travel Story
My name is Tallulah Hogan. I'm am a 9th grader, and I love traveling! For such a long time, I have been very interested and passionate about traveling and culture. The word Culture is very important to me! It teaches me about the life of that person, the food, the clothes, the language and more. Growing up, every day I see someone new to the U.S. About 7/8 of my friends are foreigners and English is not their native language. They are also the foreigners that I taught English too! Ever since I met my non-English friends, there has always been something or someone that I have always wondered about.
When I was in 5th grade, I met someone who moved from Asia to the U.S. She didn't know English at the time and was very shy. I was her English tutor and buddy. When teaching her English, we exchanged some things about each other such as culture and language. To get to know more about her culture, I watched many movies from Asia and listened to music. Now, we both are currently in 8th grade and are best friends!
About two summers ago, I went out of the country to Mexico for a short family vacation. It was a huge experience, and I loved it! The only thing though, I never really saw the real life of Mexico. All I saw was dolphins, beaches, and clothes. Not the Mexican people and their homes or food. It was fun, but I wish that I could have the chance to experience the food and the life of a Mexican (even though I'm not one).
This time, I will make my dream come true! I'm going to Thailand because Thailand might be a small country, but it is the Land of the Smiles or known that the people there are always smiling. Plus the beauty of agriculture and nature.
Thailand is a country globally known for its very beautiful temples. Thailand is full of natural scenery, white beaches, high range mountains, Buddhist temples, and it's sweet, savory, and spicy food. On the exchange student trip, we will be learning about the culture and going to school. We will be eating lots of sweet and spicy foods. Activities including dressing up in Thai traditional outfits (Chut Thai), touring temples, nature, and meeting lots of smiling people (locals) about historical things. Last thing
Before moving on to high school, I want to have experience because high school is the last step before you decide on what dream you want to be when you grow up. I'm so excited about this chance and feel so lucky! This is a two-month-long program in which I will have the chance of experiencing something that no one has experienced before in my family.
It cost $6,500 for two months, which includes plane tickets, shelter, education, activities, food, medical insurance, visa, and transportation.
