Visiting China, especially a city like Shanghai, is more than a trip for me—it is a powerful step for my education, career, and the kind of impact I want to create in my community. Here is how this journey matters and why your support truly counts.​

Impact on my education and career
Spending time in China will expose me to a fast-growing global economy, advanced financial and creative industries, and a very different way of doing business, which will sharpen my skills as a future-focused professional and entrepreneur.​
Learning basic Mandarin, building international connections (guanxi), and understanding how Chinese companies think will give me a unique edge in global markets and make me much more competitive in international roles or partnerships back home.​
How I will give back to the community
I plan to turn this experience into practical value by sharing travel guides, videos, and talks (online and offline) that show other young people from my community how international travel and cultural exchange can open doors in education, business, and personal growth.​
By documenting real stories of life, work, and creativity in places like Shanghai and other Chinese cities, I will create content that challenges stereotypes and inspires others to dream beyond borders, while offering concrete tips on budgeting, planning, and scholarships or opportunities.​
Why this project excites me
I am passionate about this project because it combines the things that define me: curiosity, travel, storytelling, and the drive to grow into a more globally aware professional who can serve people better.
Travel to China pushes me out of my comfort zone—new language, new food, new systems—and that challenge is exactly what will help me become more adaptable, creative, and resilient in my career and life.​
Why China and Shanghai
China is one of the world’s most influential countries, with a booming economy, rich traditions, and a unique mix of ancient culture and ultra-modern innovation, making it an ideal place to learn about the future and the past at the same time.​
Shanghai, a UNESCO City of Design, is a global hub for finance, technology, and creative industries, with thousands of film, design, and digital projects that align perfectly with my interests in content creation, branding, and innovation.​
Why this is deeply meaningful
Coming from Kenya, where international travel can feel distant or impossible, this journey represents breaking mental and financial barriers—not just for me, but for everyone who will see what is possible through the content and stories I share.​
