My Travel Story

My name is Waheed Ali, and I belong to Sindh province of Pakistan. I come from a very humble farming family. My father is a farmer and, due to lifelong poverty and inherited hardship, he could only complete five years of schooling. Despite his limited education and income, he never allowed poverty to defeat my dreams.

With his encouragement and my own struggle, I continued my studies. By giving home tuition to other children, I managed to complete my intermediate education. Today, I am at the university level — the first and only person from my entire community to reach this stage of education. This achievement is not only mine; it represents hope for my family and for many children who look up to me as proof that education can change destiny.

Unfortunately, our lives were shattered by the devastating floods of 2023–24. Our home was completely destroyed, and my family became homeless. We are now living in a single tent, struggling daily for basic necessities. In these circumstances, my education is in serious danger. I can no longer afford university tuition fees, books, hostel expenses, or even basic academic needs. My father, despite all his sacrifices, is unable to support these costs due to the loss of our home and livelihood.

Yet, even in this darkness, my family continues to encourage me to move forward. They believe that I am their only hope — the chance to break generations of poverty and bring a better future through education.

With utmost humility and respect, I appeal to kind and generous individuals to help me continue my education. Your support will not only save a student’s future but will uplift an entire family and inspire a whole community. Any assistance — whether financial support for fees, books, or accommodation — will be a lifeline for us.

I do not ask for luxury; I ask only for the opportunity to learn, to stand on my own feet, and to serve society with dignity.
