Please help me protect endangered turtle species!
My Travel Story
This summer I will be undertaking a three-week-long turtle conservation project; working alongside a local biologist in Costa Rica to assist in sustainable conservation activities such as: building hatcheries, replanting mangroves, monitoring local populations and beach clean ups. Costa Rica is home to several types of turtles such as: Leatherback, Green and Olive Ridley. Unfortunately, these species are now noted as critically endangered as many turtle hatchlings do not make it to adulthood for a varieity of reasons e.g., poaching and predators. This program works to increase population sizes and the quality of the turtles’ nesting habitat. I have been working for the majority of my gap year in order to afford this project but between the flights, program fees, vaccinations and insurance, the total cost of this trip is a significant sum. The preservation of the Costa Rican environment and this work means a lot to me and any donations would be amazing!!
Thank you for helping to make my dream a reality :)
