My Travel Story

Hello,

I am excited to have the opportunity to volunteer in Arusha, Tanzania this summer! In this once in a lifetime opportunity I will be spending my day in the local schools working directly with children. Many of these schools are under-funded and under-resourced and I will be able to help provide education and support to these young children. I am excited to share some of my ideas and engage with these children. I will have the opportunity to to not only impact them but I also plan to bring some basic supplies and other items that are less available in Tanzania.
Spending time in a place like Tanzania will not only allow me to learn from a new culture but it means a lot to me personally as my grandparents were born in South Africa. Even though they grew up in a more privileged environment they saw the vast difference in how people were treated, which contributed to them fleeing their homeland. I feel like this will be an amazing chance to give back and see a different part of Africa.
