My Travel Story

Travel is not only a way of leisure. It is th source of inspirations. And it will be the theme of my first personal exhibition, aka my graduation solo art show. Your support is going to contribute to a tangible result and each of you will surely receive my secret gives.
I am a painting and sculpture artist and photographer. I have been working with the theme of traveling for over 4 years. I would say the four years passed isn't the best time for me to produce compelling artworks. Instead, I would love to say it is a big big lesson where I learned about the truth of creating art and found the right way for me.
I love landcape and started doing landcape art because of the color and variety of things. In the four years of repeating the same routine working on various objects, I realized that there are way more than what I see that is expressed on the canvas. That is my emotion, which is part of me, and what makes my works unique.
After a 3-month struggle, I finally decided to pause my on-site work and school for a summer, and go to places that I love, and those that I have been curious about, to find the themes and subject matters for my upcoming artworks and the graduation solo art exhibition. I really want to put myself into contexts - the social contexts that I never experienced, to find the most of me out of it.
For sure it is not an easy trip, and it is too easy to say what I want to contribute and have a unrealistic expectation. But who doesn't have a dream when they are young. At the end of the day, people are not going to regret for what they did, but for what they did not do, and what they missed.
I am trying everyway to fund myself this trip, everything but family financial support. Luckily I am making money by doing freelancing graphic design, but it is not sufficient for me to afford the entire trip and the equipments and supplies that I need. I would love to ask for your help and support to help me finish this project of exploring myself as you'd like to. I am not the most talented artist, or most hard working one, but I do have dream that I need everyone to support me so that I can get where I want to be. Everyone's support, in any form, is appreciated, and is worthy me to go further.

  • If My Travel Cures Others' Depression

    Suffering from Anxiety Disorder and Depression, Zhongxiang has been through a very tough time in the past years. And he found out art and travel helped define himself, and cure his mental disease. This trip is part of his project which ultimately contributes to his planned exhibition to raise the awareness of mental health and develp his professions in art therapy.
