My Travel Story

by: Maddie Lane Start Date: Oct 22, 2022 - End Date: Feb 2, 2023
A once in a lifetime trip like this is something I have just recently discovered I was curious about. The shows involved with documenting life of animals all around the planet are what have really inspired me to want to get involved; to help restore and protect what I can and make a difference in our wildlife. We would not be able to live and breath without the help of animals, vegetation & wildlife in general. I chose this destination because when I did some of my own research about this country, I learned from worldwildlife.org that governments from all over have decided that the sea turtles of Madagascar are now no longer able to illegally traded and countries are working together to help enforce activities such as monitoring & detection to keep them safe and put an end to the rapid decline of their population! With this trip, I would have the incredible opportunity of contributing my help to nurtur little turtle babies that wash up to shore, show them how to fish, and especially how to swim on their own! To volunteer time in being apart of something as unique as this, I feel would change my persepective of everything. Taking less for granted and getting a chance to truly disconnect from virtual life and connect with real life!
