I started my PhD journey in May, 2019 and enjoyed the researcher phase.  I thoroughly enjoyed the researcher phase, presenting my work at a conference, and demonstrating a commitment to academic excellence.
However, I have encountered unforeseen challenges that have significantly impacted my progress. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I was compelled to take a six-month suspension in consideration of my physical and psychological well-being. Subsequently, I resumed my studies from my home country, successfully completing my second and third years. Regrettably, in November 2022, I experienced a personal tragedy with the loss of my father, who was the sole source of my funding. Coping with this loss has been emotionally challenging, leading to unexpected difficulties. I have been really low psychologically and have done some of the unexpected things.
In the aftermath of this heartbreaking event, I proactively sought support from the University's department of mental health and well-being to address the impact on my overall well-being. This incident is really depressing and has caused lot of pain to me and my family. Despite my efforts, I recently received my fourth PRP report, which classified my progress as 'Progress' rather than 'Progress to Thesis Pending Year,' creating an unexpected complication.
Compounding these challenges, the financial strain resulting from the loss of my father's support has made it impossible for me to fulfill the required fees for this academic year. I am a self-funded student, and the current circumstances prevent me from paying the £14,863 necessary for enrollment. I successfully secured a maximum extension of registration on December 24, 2023, but the financial constraints persist, hindering my ability to register for the ongoing academic year. Currently, I have reached out to department regarding the student hardship scheme and the potential for a fee discount. I am maintaining regular communication with the Funding Team to explore all available avenues for assistance but no luck yet.
Therefore, I request you guy, upto your capacity, to fund my PhD for this last year. I am working part-time as well but that still can't acommodate the funds. Consider funding your sister, mother, or a friend. I will be grateful to you guys and when I am capable enough, I will try to return it back to you.
Thank you for your time and understanding.
