For my entire life I've dreamed of visiting Japan, and am so blown away that I have the opportunity to go and not only that, but I get the opportunity to go for what I love most which is to play Kendama. For those of you who haven’t heard of Kendama it is a Japanese skill toy that came around in the 1700's and just recently has caught on and is starting to blow up all around the globe. I linked a video of myself playing kendama so you guys could get a feel as to what it is I do. So, I’ve been playing kendama for almost two years now and play for a company called kendama-co based out of Denver, Colorado, we basically sell kendamas online and do a lot of work with different communities just pushing kendama forward and helping the kids learn new and fun tricks and basically just spread the kendama love. The reason we are headed to japan is because the world cup of kendama is happening this summer and me and my team want to go show our stuff. The world cup is set in the birthplace of kendama in japan and is going to be amazing experience learning about the history of kendama and how the play styles have evolved so much to what is happening today. We also plan to stop in Denmark for the EKO (European Kendama Open) and also try and spread the love there as well. Basically our entire trips goal is to spread the kendama love as much as possible and try getting people who may have never heard of it hooked on it. Kendama has taught me many things but most of all it has taught me extreme patience, that if I just slow down take my time and keep at it eventually good things will come. I am so excited for this trip and it would mean so much if you guys could help out any way possible to make this trip the most exciting, fun, beneficial, positive trip I can have. Thank you guys so much for your time and stay tuned to my Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube channel for lots of amazing Kendama footage from around the globe, Thanks again. Cheers.
