Volunteering in India
My Travel Story
As part of my self development and my desire to help others, throughout June and July this year, I am planning two trips to India to volunteer with IVHQ.
My first trip in June, is to Kerala to Fort Kochi to volunteer at a Women's Empowerment Community. I will be there for 3 weeks.
International Volunteer HQ’s Women’s Empowerment project enables volunteers to teach free classes for local women who tend to live in highly traditional ways. Volunteers can gain teaching experience while giving English lessons and helping women learn about modern social issues. This can help them build the confidence they need to find jobs and have more independent lives with less gender-based inequality.
I am then returning to the UK for 10 days before heading to Delhi for my second programme.
International Volunteer HQ’s Childcare project empowers volunteers to gain experience in early childhood education at childcare centres in Faridabad. These centres are often extremely busy with large numbers of children attending. Support from volunteers can ease the workload for local staff and improve access to care and education for young children.
If anyone would like to donate, I will use this money to buy some tablets or books or anything to help make life better for the people on the two programmes I am doing.
I will keep you all updated on Facebook and my blog, so appreciate any support and donations that you can give.
Thank you all.
