My Travel Story
I am a high school teacher who has a passion for cultural exhange and global experience. When I was a junior in high school, I participated in a student exchange program in China. This began my lifelong love for learning about the world and widening my perspective.
As a teacher, I aspire to lead my students to be global citizens. I want them to learn about how people live in other countries, and I want them to learn about themselves as they reflect on their global experiences. I believe international experiences are crucial stepping stones in a child's mental and emotional development. But not every family has the ability to pay their child's way for an experience like the one I am offering.
I am leading a 10-day trip for high school students to France and Switzerland in July 2026. I chose these locations for the learning experiences they'll provide. I want students to be immersed in the big city life in Paris - the hustle and bustle, the public transit, the art and architecture, and the food. I also want them to see how different the work-life balance in the US is to that of the Parisians (it's astounding!) In Switzerland, we'll be visiting rural neighborhoods in the Alps to see the slowed-down lifestyles of dairy farmers. The Alps are a special place to lay eyes on and I hope the kids experience that "wow the world is so big and beautiful" feeling. It's a momentous experience to appreciate being so small in such a large world.
