Studying abroad is one of those opportunities in your lifetime that you cannot pass up. To me it is amazing that through this university I have the ability to explore a different culture while also furthering my education. I have always been very dedicated to my academics which in my family was an interesting concept. I am a first-generation student, both my parents and my grandparents on both sides found careers immediately following high school and did not have the opportunity to advance further than that. Getting to experience everything that post-secondary schooling has to offer has been very beneficial, new and exciting for me.
Since I was young I have always had very big and difficult aspirations. I want to see the world and experience how people outside of small and sheltered Utah live. This is why attending university has never been a question for me. If I am able to utilize everything this school has to offer and travel during my schooling it would be a privilege. I am a pre-med student and knowing how to interact with people I am unfamiliar with will help me greatly in my professional life. This study abroad opportunity would allow me to practice those skills.
