This journey isn’t about a vacation.
It’s about independence, courage, and the quiet bravery it takes to try something for the first time.

I am preparing to travel with a young lady from Ohio who is on the autism spectrum and has a dream many of us take for granted: to experience her first solo trip—without her parents—safely, confidently, and with dignity.

For her, this is not just a cruise.
It is a milestone.

It’s the moment where she learns:

I can navigate the world.
I can trust myself.
I can grow beyond what people assume I’m capable of.
We will be taking a 7-day cruise from Los Angeles to the Western Caribbean, and for the first time, she will step into a new level of independence—while still having the support she needs to thrive.

Why My Presence Matters
Travel can be overwhelming for individuals on the spectrum—new environments, schedules, sensory changes, social navigation, and unexpected disruptions. My role as The Buddy is to be:

A steady presence
A calm guide
A trusted support system
I help bridge the gap between dependence and freedom—so experiences like this become possible instead of frightening.

Why Sponsorship Is Needed
She has worked hard and is able to afford her own travel—a powerful statement of commitment and self-belief. However, she cannot afford to cover the cost of a support companion.
