Let me take you on a journey through my life, a life filled with challenges, heartache, and triumphs. I am a single mother to a beautiful 7-year-old girl who lights up my world with her presence every day. She is a special child, born with autism and ADHD, and taking care of her has been both my greatest joy and my most significant challenge.

My journey as a mother began with a harsh twist of fate. At the tender age of 19, I lost my mother, leaving me to navigate the tumultuous waters of adulthood without her guidance. I learned to stand on my own two feet, but life had more hardships in store for me. When I turned 30 and was pregnant with my precious daughter, I faced yet another devastating loss - my father. It was a heart-wrenching moment when I realized I would have to raise my child without the loving support of my parents.

When my daughter was just three weeks old, I found the strength to break free from an abusive relationship with her father. It was a harrowing experience, but one that I knew was necessary to protect both of us. Since then, I have been her sole caregiver (financially, physically and emotionally) pouring all my love and energy into providing her with the best life possible.

In 2020, I received a glimmer of hope when I won a trip to Los Angeles to meet my best and longest friend at a Women's Conference. However, like so many plans that year, it was canceled due to the pandemic. Now, after a year filled with hardships, I have the opportunity to finally take that trip to visit my friend in L.A. It's a chance for me to reconnect with a dear friend, to take a break from the relentless demands of motherhood, and to prioritize my own mental health.

Unfortunately, life has left me with limited resources. As a self-employed individual, I don't receive paid vacations, and all the money I had saved up for this much-needed trip has been exhausted, leaving me with only $500 to cover two weeks in L.A. That's where your compassion and generosity come in.

Your support will not only make my dream of visiting L.A. a reality but also provide me with a chance to recharge and return as a better, more resilient mother to my beloved daughter. It will be the first time we'll be apart for so long, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make for the sake of our future.
