My Travel Story

Hi everyone! I´m super excited to leave for Tanzania in June this year! I´m Emily, 19 years old from Austria. It´s such a privilege for me to be able to not only travel the world but to take part in changing it for the better! I’ll be volunteering for three weeks with IVHQ, a trusted and well-established volunteer organization, supporting an incredible project focused on women’s empowerment.
What will my project be about?
We will help women to lead better, more independent lives by:
  • teaching business and English classes
  • teaching them how to breed chicken (a life-changing source of income in Tanzania
  • providing essential medical supplies and sanitary products
Why Tanzania? 
  • Many women in Tanzania face various challenges like domestic violence or lose their husbands and are therefore left without support.
  • Education for women is still uncommon, meaning they often remain fully dependent on their husbands.
  • Most women don´t have access to basic sanitary products 
So why am I raising money? This project costs me about 3000€, which includes flights, accomondation, food, visa, courses before I leave and several small expenses. I truly don’t want to miss out on this opportunity just because of financial reasons – which is why I’m asking for your support.
