I have been approved for a positive psychology study abroad trip, which will provide the final credits required for the psychology portion of my undergraduate degree.
The trip is to the island of Ischia, which is just off the coast of Naples, Italy. The course is centered on the eight dimensions of wellness, and we're to explore these elements of positive psychology through activities on the island, such as the thermal baths, food, city, and more. We will explore our connections with ourselves, our fellow classmates, and the people of Ischia. I think one of the best reasons to have this course here is because of the difference in lifestyle between Nebraska and Ischia. People have different relationships with food, work, recreation, and each other than we do here. It's a completely different environment.
I believe that this trip is highly relevant to my degree, career, and life here in Nebraska. I will hopefully learn a lot more about myself and other people, as well as the degrees of wellness that the class centers around.
