My Travel Story

Hello, we are a newly married couple from South Africa and before anything, we would like to say that we would not have asked for any help or assistance on fundmytravel if we could do this by ourselves. We can work and save enough money to travel, unfortunately, we do not have the luxury of time to take advantage of the opportunity that has been placed in front of us. I have been offered an opportunity to teach English in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and while I am working there my wife will be able to study and teach English online part-time.

We are currently living in Cambodia which is next to Vietnam, but the entry restrictions made it expensive to travel during the pandemic (14 Day quarantine hotel expense and only charter flights are available). It would be our dream come true to move to Vietnam, but we need to move there by August 2021. We can fund a lot of the trip by ourselves, I estimate that we can get $2000 by the due date, this would cover our living expenses for the first month before I get paid in Vietnam as well as visa, covid tests and all the costs of the paperwork involved.

How will this impact our education or career:

If we can move to Vietnam I will be able to get a job as an English Teacher. My wife will finally get the opportunity to start studying for a Bachelors's Degree so that she can also be an English teacher 3 years from now.

How will you make a difference in the community?

We will be able to help students change their lives by being able to speak English and find more opportunities inside and outside of Vietnam.

Why are you passionate about this project?

Its been our dream to travel and see different countries and cultures while helping others.

Why did you choose this destination?

Vietnam is an amazing country, we have thought about traveling to Vietnam for years and years. We watch youtube videos about Vietnam every single day.
