Hi guys! My name is Caitlin and first off I want to say thanks for taking interest in my profile. I am currently a student at St. John's university in Queens, New York. I hope to study on St. John's Rome, Italy campus during my spring semester of 2018. My primary reason for studying abroad was to experience a country other than America, which I have never left. I have Italian heritage and hope to learn more about my ancestors, and more about where I come from. I study Speech-Language Pathology which inclines me to always be interested in language. Another reason I love language, is that I, myself am a CODA (child of deaf adults). I am fluent in american sign language, and use it regularly to communicate with my parents and family members who are deaf. What makes this trip meaningful for me is being able to connect and meet people in a different country and learn their language, to gain more international awareness and also to have experiences that will last me a lifetime. Any money raised will go to travel costs and other expenses across the whole semester. I need to bring at least $5,000 of spending money in order for me to have weekend trips and make this semester a memorable one. If funds are not an option, prayers and information about being abroad are always greatly appreciated!! Thanks once again for taking your time to read my story and I am looking forward to spending a few months in Italy!!
