I never thought I would lose everything in the blink of an eye. But that's what happened when a fire broke out in my rented home and spread rapidly, leaving me with nothing but the clothes on my back.

The fire took away not only my belongings, but also my memories, my security, and my sense of place in the world. I was left homeless, traumatized and bewildered. The fire was the final blow in a series of misfortunes that have unfolded in the past year. I lost my father and best friend to cancer, my mother has been diagnosed with colo rectal cancer and I lost my job while trying to keep everything together. Watching my life turn to dust during the fire felt like the final blow.

But then, I remembered a dream I've always had: to travel to Southeast Asia and to experience the rich culture, history, and nature of the region. My mother has always wanted to see the ancient temples of Cambodia, the vibrant cities of Vietnam and the lush landscapes of Laos. I've always wanted to learn from the people, the traditions, and the spirituality of Southeast Asia.

This could be my chance to find new purpose and to heal from my wounds. So I decided to take a leap of faith and to start planning the trip of a lifetime, with the hope of finding peace, hope and recovery during the journey.
