My Travel Story

 Ever since I was little, I've wanted to go abroad, and when I got to Samford University, I was given the opportunity to go on three life-changing trips: a study through the classics in Rome and Florence, a performance opportunity at the biggest theatre festival in the world in Edinburgh, and an entire semester working and studying in the heart of London. 

Why Italy?
While in Italy, I'll be able to travel to several desinations all over the country with the University Fellows program. With a cohort of my peers, I'll get to visit Rome, Florence, Orvieto, and many other places we've read about together, experiencing the world those authors lived in.

Why Edinburgh?
Every few years, the Samford Theatre department performs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, a unique and incredible celebration of arts and culture. Educational insititutions and theatre companies from all over the world come together to perform, watch, and earn from one another. Performing at the Fringe would allow me to perform on a global stage, unlike one I've ever had the opportunity to.

Why London?
Home to the West End theatre district, London provides the perfect backdrop for both my continued study of the classics and my professional career in the theatre industry. While there, I'd be working in the area, taking an internship in my field. London is the gateway to both the past and my future; from both the Royal Museum to the lights of the West End, there is no better place for me to live, work, and study.
