Hi everyone!

My name is Abigail, and I graduated this year from Edinburgh Napier University with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Animal and Conservation Biology with the goal to pursue Wildlife Conservation, which brings us to this campaign!

This is something that I have wanted to pursue for a long time, and now is the perfect time to gain some experience in Conservation before going on to further study or further career developments.

The volunteer experience begins with a placement at Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. They are a non-profit company that treat and care for injured, orphaned, and poisoned wildlife. I have a particular interest in their partnership with the Endangered Wildlife Trust and their work with poisoned vultures. I will be doing a mix of jobs from feeding, cleaning, enrichment activities, and potentially assisting with vet procedures.

I move on to the Vikela Kruger Conservation Experience where I will be assisting with wildlife monitoring and anti-poaching procedures in addition to physical work such as road/bush clearing and removal of trees.

The third placement will be at Care for Wild Africa, which is the world's largest rhino care and rehabilitation centre. I will prepare food and feed the rhinos, clean the enclosures, and monitor rhinos that have been released onto the reserve.

My final placement will be at the Phinda Wildlife Research Project where I will assist with wildlife monitoring projects and collecting data on the locations and numbers of key species, the age and gender compositions of the populations, and breeding and predator feeding behavior. I am particularly interested in updating animal identikits which are used to identify individual animals when in the field. There may even be a chance to help with horn trimming and other management practices that occur at the reserve.

The money will not only go towards my accommodation, meals, transport, and support, but it also goes towards the projects that I will be on placement at.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about my campaign. I hope I have inspired you to make a difference through a donation. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about my experiences or if you would like to get involved in another way.

Thanks! Abigail

It's just over a month until I go on this adventure! I'm so thankful to those who have donated and are helping my dream come true!

If you want to financially support my goal then any amount is greatly appreciated! Otherwise, support in the form of advice or moral support are appreciated just as much, if not more!
