English for Everyone - An English Experience in Ghana!
My Travel Story
I have been selected to volunteer in a rural, underprivileged village in Ghana, teaching English to children and training local teachers.
How will this impact my education or career?
I have been a teacher for 12 years. This project will help broaden my knowledge of teaching methodologies and working with underprivileged communities will widen my cultural experience. I'm currently completing a Doctorate in Education and this project will assist me when doing my research.
How will I make a difference in the community?
I hope to bring my existing knowledge and experience to a small community, helping them to expand their teaching skills.
Why am I passionate about this project?
I'm passionate and enthusiastic about this project because I love education and it makes me happy to see children learn and thrive in an educational setting.
Why did I choose this destination?
I chose this destination because it's always been somewhere I wanted to visit and there is a real need for education in rural areas which don't have funding for a high standard of education.
What makes this meaningful for me?
This project is meaningful to me because it encompasses everything I love about education. Seeing the smiles on children's faces as they learn is very rewarding and fulfilling!
