There are few trials in life harder than facing a serious illness alone,without the support of family.For my mother,a single mother of two young children,such a battle seems nearly impossible.Yet with her characteristic strength and determination,she continues to fight.



Diagnosed last year with cervical cancer,Mum underwent Initial treatment in a dispensary in our rural Reso back in Kenya.But the cancer had already spread,and local doctors said there was little more they could offer.With few other options,Mum was being shuttled between different hospitals without a cohesive treatment plan.She was first referred to The Nairobi West Hospital, Nairobi and then Metropolitan Hospital and eventually Avenue Hospital where we met Doctor Vishal whom have referred us to Nanavati Max Institute of Cancer Care in Mumbai last hope for a lifesaving procedure called chemo-radiation and that the medical infrastructure and technologies used at the hospital are at par with international standards. Proper care is also given at affordable rates,that best fits our financial position.



 Though deeply afraid,Mum mustered the courage knowing the stakes-her children Lawrence 20,and Rohan,13,who rely completely on their mother for care,support and love.To abandon the treatment meant almost certain death,leaving us orphaned with no one else to care for us.And so Mum has embarked on the long,difficult journey to a new destination,hundred of miles from all she knows and the little support she has.The costs have been enormous.Though assistance so far has covered the medical expenses,money for basic food and transport is desperately needed. 


Without such donations,Mum’s already slim chances of survival grow slimmer still.Kind souls-won’t you please help give this courageous mother a fighting chance?Even a small contribution will make a world of difference to mum and us,her children and friends.Our future Hang in the balance-but hope is not lost,if compassionate people open their hearts and wallets to support this brave woman’s fight.
