My Travel Story

by: Tito Mhagama Start Date: Jul 3, 2026 - End Date: Jan 2, 2027
Hello! My name is Tito Remigius Mhagama, and I am honored to have been selected for the 2026/2027 Cardinal Onaiyekan Foundation for Peace (COFP) International Fellowship Program in Abuja, Nigeria. Out of more than 3,000 applicants, I was fortunate to be shortlisted for this prestigious fellowship, and I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity.
I have always believed that lasting peace begins with informed, compassionate, and committed leaders. Throughout my academic journey and community involvement, I have been passionate about promoting dialogue, youth empowerment, and sustainable solutions to social challenges. This fellowship will equip me with advanced knowledge and practical skills in conflict management, mediation, peacebuilding, and leadership skills that are urgently needed in our communities today.
The fellowship brings together emerging leaders from different countries to learn from experienced practitioners, exchange ideas, and develop innovative approaches to building peaceful and resilient societies. I chose this program because it offers more than classroom learning; it provides practical experience, international collaboration, and a network of changemakers committed to creating positive impact.
While the Cardinal Onaiyekan Foundation generously covers accommodation, meals, training materials, and logistics during the training sessions, fellows are responsible for the cost of travel to Abuja, Nigeria, three times during the fellowship year, as well as visa fees and other travel-related expenses. These costs are significant for me, which is why I am reaching out for your support.
Your donation will help cover:
International flights to and from Abuja, Nigeria
Visa application fees
Local transportation
Travel insurance and essential travel expenses
Every contribution large or small brings me one step closer to participating in this life-changing opportunity.
The knowledge and experience I gain will not end with me. After completing the fellowship, I plan to share what I have learned through community workshops, youth mentorship, peace education initiatives, and collaborations with local organizations. My goal is to empower young people to become advocates for peace, dialogue, and social cohesion while contributing to stronger, more resilient communities in Tanzania.
By supporting this campaign, you are not only helping me travel you are investing in a future leader dedicated to creating positive change and promoting peace.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign with your family, friends, and networks would mean just as much.
Thank you for believing in my journey and for helping me take this important step toward making a lasting impact.
With sincere gratitude,
Tito Remigius Mhagama
