My Travel Story

I have been given the incredible opprotunity to spend a month abroad in Uganda! I am SO excited for the chance to go and experience this unique country. This trip will be from May 30, 2023-June 24, 2023. This is a population health study abroad and I will be able to assist in the refugee camps in Uganda, interacting directly with the different people there. I am a 22 year old currently attending Utah Tech University. I am a biomedical sciences major, and I indend to go to medical school after I graduate. I would like to become a neurosurgeon some day. As a medical professional, interacting with all kinds of people from all kinds of backgrounds will be a very important part of my job. This study abroad will allow me to be able to relate with some people on a much more personal level than I feel I would be able to if I didn't go. Being exposed to different cultures and beliefs can help with how you interact with others in the future. I will be able to connect with others better, and I feel that it will make me a better doctor, and person in general. The cost of the trip certainly isn't free, and any help that I can get along the way is very appreciated. Please help me go have this incredible experience helping others!
