In October 2018 I will take part in a two-weeks voluntary program of SLV.Global, a voluntary organisation based in the UK that was founded by psychology graduates.I consider myself as very lucky and am super excited that they choose me as one of their participants! :)

SLV´s aim is to focus on global mental health by providing volunteers the chance to gain psychology experience in various communities that need extra support. The placement is in partnership with the National Institute of Mental Health & Neuroscience (NIMHANS) and will include unparalleled insight into global mental health treatment. I will have a chance to attend lectures at the NIMHANS facilities where I´ll meet and learn from some of the most prominent clinical psychologists, psychiatrists and neuroscientists working in the mental health field in India and beyond.

Why am I doing this and who benefits from it?

I do this because I strongly believe that learning from each other makes us stronger together. I choose SLV because they focus on ethical and sustainable projects that are beneficial to everyone involved. I learned a lot about modern techniques used to prevent and cure mental health problems during my years at university and I see it as a great opportunity to expand (and then use and share) my knowledge about ancient eastern psychological methodologies like mindfulness and meditation in the very place where they were conceived.

I want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to benefit from my experience, so everyone who shares a donation will receive a beautiful pdf booklet after my stay, including pictures and a lot of valuable information about everything I have learned during the two weeks in India.

I will also create a travel blog, where I will keep you updated with useful travel tips, things I´ve learned while traveling and beautiful pictures! The link will be shared here shortly before I will leave to India.

I will also list some other donor rewards ideas, that you can see on the right side of this page.

The costs I´ve listed here include the program fee, deposit fee and the FundMy Travel Site fee, I cover the other expenses, like flight, travel insurance, visa... myself.

If you like this project and what I am doing, I´d be happy to be supported by you!<3
