Well, who would have thought this was even going to happen. 

If you had asked me 2 weeks ago, my answer would have been very grim. 

And yet- miracles happen! And yes, I believe in magic. 

Hello lovely people,
for those of you who may not know me, I am Lisa and with the encouragement of friends and family, I am starting this pop-up fundraiser to support Maya's travel to Frankfurt, Germany. 

Maya and I share amazing memories together- Traveling through New Zealand in a van, endless walks on the beach, hours of cuddles, and countless hilarious moments of full stream goofiness of this absolute sweetheart of a soul.

She has supported me in all kinds of life rollercoaster moments. She is my life companion, my teacher of unconditional love, and the best gypsy buddy I could have ever imagined by my side. 

And now, my next life chapter is taking me back to Europe, first to my home country Germany, and who knows where else in the future. And I am SO SO grateful that air travel for pets has recently resumed and Maya is able to accompany me on this adventure, OUR adventure!

So again, with the encouragement of friends and family, suggesting this fundraiser to support cover the large travel costs involved in getting Maya to Germany, here we are...sharing our story. 

On 22nd September, all going well, Maya and I will be boarding separate planes, same destination Frankfurt, Germany. 

Coming from New Zealand we are both lucky to be able to walk out of Frankfurt with a few extra steps of caution, but no isolation or quarantine requirements. 

We will be walking out of Frankfurt airport lifted by gratitude and fuelled by excitement for life. Life in a country Maya has of course never been to, and I have not lived in for almost 12 years. It will take some adjusting and getting used to, I am sure. But reconnecting with my family and friends, able to spend quality time with them, this time without the ticking clock in the back of my mind of a returning flight to New Zealand.

I know I will have moments of missing my soul family and friends in New Zealand. But if I learned one thing during my time here... connection is more than physical closeness. Soul connections are always just a heartbeat away. And let's be really cheesy for a moment; "Good friends are like stars. You don't always see them, but you know they're always there.”

With that warm feeling in my heart, the strong inner calling of wanting to return to Europe, and trusting that "things will work out well", Maya and I are (almost) ready...The countdown is on...15 days until take-off.
