Help Me Bridge the Gap & Bring Holiday Cheer!
My Travel Story
I'm writing this to you—my thoughts flowing through my keyboard and screen, my heart back in our hometown—as I stand on the edge of a new chapter and a lifelong commitment. I've secured a fantastic role as a Caregiver in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), a major step for my career.
But before I click 'submit' on my life abroad, I have a mission I cannot abandon, and a temporary hurdle I need your help to clear.
The Challenge: Unemployment Meets Bureaucracy
For the last eight years, I dedicated my life to working abroad as a Caregiver. Now, I have secured my next career opportunity in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH)! However, I am currently in the Philippines and face a critical double challenge during this transition:
The Visa Waiting Game (4 Months):
My biggest hurdle is the mandatory 4-month waiting period required for my official work and residence visa to be processed by BiH authorities. Current Unemployment: Having already been without stable income for several months, my savings are depleted. Finding even a temporary job here in the Philippines while simultaneously preparing for an international move and waiting for a foreign visa is proving to be incredibly difficult—a true standstill.
The Solution: The 4-Month Bridge Fund
The funds requested for my personal needs will act as a critical 4-month bridge. This support is vital to prevent my current unemployment from derailing my entire journey.
This money will ensure:
Sustained Stability: Covering my essential living costs (mortgage, food, utilities, visa fees) during the long, mandatory waiting period in both the Philippines and upon arrival in BiH.
A Solid Start: Allowing me to confidently secure my initial steps in BiH, so that once the visa is approved, I can focus 100% on my new job and sending support back home.
Your support for this Bridge Fund is an investment in my stability, which is the foundation for continuing my mission to help the children and elders in our community.
My Promise: Upholding Our Yearly Tradition
This is the part of my story that means the most.
For years, I have used my own hard-earned money to personally fund our Christmas mission: feeding the children and providing essential groceries for the elderly. It is my personal act of giving, my devotion to this community.
This year, because all my resources are tied up in preparing for my move, I simply cannot fund the mission alone. But I will not let a financial gap cancel our tradition of care.
Your partnership means the mission continues. Once my personal bridge fund is secured, every single additional peso will go directly to these two local projects:
1. A Place for Play: The Children’s Playground
We will install a safe, joyful playground at the local elementary school. It's a space where kids can thrive, laugh, and build happy memories—a place of lasting community investment.
2. Dignity and Warmth: Groceries for the Elderly
We will assemble large care packages, filling them with nutritious food and essential supplies for our senior residents. This support ensures they have a Christmas of comfort, knowing they are remembered and valued by their community.
Why I Am Reaching Out Through This Screen
My life's work is caregiving, and that service is not limited to my job. This project is meaningful because it allows me to secure my future while simultaneously fulfilling my deep commitment to our hometown.
You aren't just giving me a hand up; you are empowering me to leave a legacy of love and support behind before I embark on my next big journey. Thank you for making my dream a shared one.
With deep gratitude,
Chanda
