My Travel Story

In Spring 2026, I have the opportunity to visit the Netherlands and learn more about the Dutch education system, including team-based teaching and student-centered learning strategies. I plan to apply the knowledge I gain from Dutch schools to inspire and enhance my teaching skills in the future as I enter full-time teaching. I am passionate about teaching English Literature and instilling in students a love for reading, just as teachers in the past have done for me. With the methods and strategies I learn about in the Netherlands, I can more efficiently and confidently instruct my students. I would love to speak with Dutch teachers and students about their experiences with the Dutch school system and how it benefits them. I hope to implement similar methods and strategies in my classroom.  I have always wanted to study abroad while still learning more about the education system, and now I have an amazing opportunity to do so.

  • Financial Aid News

    Thanks to a scholarship and grant from ASU, my fundraising goal has decreased to $2,665!

  • Together, We Have Now Raised Over $800!

    As of today, December 3, 2025, we have raised $825! Although it may seem like a small portion of my $6,017 goal, I am still waiting to hear back from financial aid, and I am hopeful that they will help out with at least half of what is left! To raise more money in the meantime, I will be selling cookie variety boxes and holding a yard sale for those local to the Yuma area! Be on the lookout for more updates!
