Hello! My name is Gabrielle Stokes, and I am about to graduate from Pennsylvania State University with an Honors Bachelors degree in Psychology and Science. My plan is to take a gap year and then go to medical school. During this gap year, I want to get involved in more clinical work, and I would love to  do this somewhere that I can make a large impact. I have been looking into this program for awhile and would love to be able to travel to Africa to complete this clinical work. I would be spending 3 weeks in Mombasa, Kenya where I will have a hands-on clinical experience with my own mentor in the field I want to go in (neuroscience). I will have the opportunity to spend my days in the hospital on rotations while also being able to volunteer to help teach or provide care in the local orphanage. On top of that, I will also be indulged in the culture as I will have family meals each night and take Swahili lessons each week. This would be an incredible opportunity for me that would really help me in my futur medical career, so thank you to all who can help with my funding in any way!
