My Travel Story

I am a 17-year-old junior at Suncoast Polytechnical High School that is interested in volunteering at a soup kitchen in Lisbon, Portugal. I would like to volunteer to be able to take part in a larger goal and demonstrate my resolve for a humanitarian cause. This would also benefit my academics, for it will help me in graduating high school and get into my dream college. This would not be my first volunteer experience. I am an avid active member of my community, where I have racked up over 110 hours of verified community service. I have helped young children learn to read, volunteered at my local little league stadium, and have done numerous volunteer work at my school. I am part of 3 clubs, work a part time job, and take part of various AP classes. But if I may be honest, the reason for my interest in Portugal is because I would love to experience the culture, to be able to see what life is like away from America. To see how other people live. I also genuinly just want to help out.
