I truly believe children deserve safe, supportive adults who help them grow into confident, capable individuals. This opportunity means so much to me because of my own childhood experiences. Growing up, school was difficult for me. I struggled with dyslexia and often felt like some teachers didn’t believe in me. I became discouraged and started to think I wasn’t capable simply because my brain worked differently than other students. But a few teachers took the time to understand me, help me, and believe in me, and I have never forgotten them.
They are a big part of why I care so deeply about children today. I never want a child to feel labeled as the “bad kid” or the “problem child.” I believe many children are simply misunderstood and need patience, encouragement, and someone willing to meet them where they are. Kids are our future, and they deserve to be empowered and built up, not shut down or placed in a box.
For the past five years I’ve worked with children of many ages, including children with special needs, and I’ve learned how to help them express themselves in ways beyond words through creativity, trust, and understanding. Becoming an au pair in New Zealand is more than just travel for me. It is a chance to expand my understanding of child development, cultural perspectives, and different approaches to helping children succeed in the real world.
I want to learn how other cultures raise and support their children so that one day, when I have my own classroom, I can create an environment where every child feels seen, respected, and capable. This experience will allow me to build meaningful bonds with children and become the kind of safe, encouraging adult I once needed.
Your support will help cover program fees, flights, and preparation costs so I can take this life-changing step. Any donation, big or small, brings me closer to creating a future where I can make a real difference in children’s lives.
Thank you for believing in me and supporting my journey.
