Supporting Refugee Youths and Church
My Travel Story
My name is Siman Ramdam, and I serve as the pastor of the Nepali Golden Church in Lawrenceville, GA. We are a dedicated community focused on supporting Bhutanese refugee families in America. Our mission is to provide holistic support to those who have fled persecution and hardship, and we are reaching out to request your assistance for an important initiative.
Purpose of the Visit
I am seeking funding to visit Nepal, where I will connect with churches in refugee camps and participate in various community programs. This visit is crucial for several reasons:
1. Strengthening Ties with Refugee Camp Churches: During our time in the refugee camps, we established connections with several local churches. This visit will allow me to reconnect with these communities, offer spiritual encouragement, and discuss how we can better support each other in our shared mission.
2. Hosting a Conference: We plan to organize a conference for pastors and community leaders in the camps. This event will focus on spiritual growth, leadership development, and the sharing of best practices. It will provide an opportunity for collaboration and mutual support among churches that are serving refugees in challenging conditions.
3. Bible Quiz Competition: Engaging youth through educational and spiritual activities is vital. We will host a Bible quiz competition for children and teenagers, designed to encourage Biblical literacy and foster a sense of community and friendly competition. This event will also help strengthen their faith and provide a platform for their voices.
4. Kids’ Programs: We will implement a series of programs for children, including storytelling sessions, arts and crafts, and educational activities. These programs aim to offer a sense of normalcy and joy to children who have experienced trauma and displacement.
Why This Matters
The refugee camps in Nepal are home to many individuals who have faced unimaginable hardship. Despite their struggles, these communities continue to practice their faith and support one another. By visiting and actively participating in their activities, we aim to provide encouragement, support, and practical help. Our engagement will not only uplift their spirits but also strengthen the bonds between our communities.
Funding Needs
To make this visit possible, we are seeking financial support to cover the following expenses:
- Travel Costs: Airfare and transportation within Nepal.
- Conference and Event Costs: Venue rentals, materials, and refreshments for the conference and Bible quiz competition.
- Program Expenses: Supplies for kids’ programs, including educational materials and activity resources.
- Accommodation and Living Expenses: Lodging and daily expenses during the stay.
How You Can Help
Your support will make a significant difference in the lives of refugees and their families. We kindly request your consideration for a donation to cover these expenses. Any contribution, no matter the size, will directly support our efforts to strengthen our community ties and provide vital services to those in need.
In addition to financial support, we deeply value your prayers for a successful and impactful visit. We believe that with your assistance, we can make a meaningful difference and continue our mission of service and support.
Thank You
Thank you for considering this request. Your generosity will help us extend our reach and enhance our support for refugee communities in Nepal. Please let us know if you require any additional information or if there are specific details you would like to discuss.
Sincerely,
Pastor Siman Ramdam
