Volunteering in Rio de Janeiro - Down through Patagonia
My Travel Story
This year, I'm embarking on a journey that combines three things I'm passionate about: helping others, sports and exploring the world. I'm heading to South America for a life-changing experience where I’ll be volunteering as a sports coach for children, followed by a chance to travel and immerse myself in the incredible cultures and natural beauty of the continent.
During the first part of my trip, I’ll be staying in a local volunteer hostel, working closely with kids—many from underprivileged communities—using sport as a way to build confidence, teamwork, and joy. I also hope to see many sites in Brazil and experience the vibrant culture of Rio de Janeiro during the 10 weeks I am staying there.
After volunteering, I plan to travel across South America—using public transport and budget-friendly stays—to learn from the land and the people. I plan to see world famous sites, such as the Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia, Patagonia and hopefully Easter Island.
