Hello! My name is Raquel, and I currently live in Japan. I have two young daughters. I would like to ask for help so I can visit my mother, whom I haven't seen in 8 years. On October 30, 2023, my mother suffered a cardiac arrest and almost died. She was hospitalized for months in a coma. She has since woken up and is currently slowly improving, but she still cannot walk and needs some equipment to help her breathe. I really want to see her as soon as possible, and I am feeling very distressed and anxious because I cannot go see her right now.
I have saved up a little money, but I sent some of it to my sister to help cover the medical costs for tests and equipment at the hospital where my mother stayed. The flights from Japan to Brazil are very expensive, and after the coronavirus pandemic, the prices have increased even more. It would take me about 2 more years to save enough money again for the tickets for me and my daughters. I do not work outside the home because my oldest daughter has Down syndrome and autism and still depends on me a lot. I wouldn't be able to travel without them even if I wanted to, as it is just me and my husband here—we have no family or friends nearby.
It has been 8 years since I last saw my family, and I really want to be able to see them again.
