My Travel Story
My name is William Evans, I am a high school student with a passion for travel and sharing my story. I am setting up this fundraiser to ask for your support in funding my gap year adventure in 2025.
After graduation, I am planning a journey of self-discovery to several countries across the world, including Australia, Japan, the US, France, Italy, Austria, and Germany. I want to explore these beautiful destinations, immerse myself in their unique cultures, and share my experiences with the world through a YouTube channel and blog.
As a young person, I believe that this gap year adventure will have a significant impact on my education and career. It will provide me with valuable skills such as cultural competency, adaptability, and problem-solving. Additionally, it will give me the opportunity to meet people from diverse backgrounds and broaden my perspective on the world.
I am also passionate about making a difference in the communities I visit. I plan to volunteer my time and skills to various organizations that work on social and environmental issues, such as GVI. I believe that this is a great way to give back to the communities that will be hosting me during my travels. I have already done a trip to Costa Rica with GVI in 2022, and treasured meeting the communities there and helping them.
I have chosen these destinations because they offer a unique blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. I am excited to explore iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower in France, the Colosseum in Italy, and the Opera House in Australia. I also want to delve into the local food, customs, and traditions of each country.
This gap year adventure is meaningful to me because it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to step outside my comfort zone, challenge myself, and learn new things. I believe that this experience will help me become a better person and prepare me for the next phase of my life, university in 2026.
