My Travel Story

Hello! My name is Gracelyn and I'm a nurse from Texas. I will be going to Guatemala in January for a medical mission trip with IVHQ.
   In 2024, I was able to start living for myself and experience the world for what it has to offer, learning to love myself more and with that, other people. Looking forward, I want to begin to live more for others as I feel that God has shown His love for me, and pay it forward starting wih this volunteer trip. In the next year 2025, I hope to exemplify my passion and love for service and giving to others especially those in areas where there is access to less resources or none at all. 
   In Guatemala, I will be able to be able to provide hands-on aid with patients and others in clinics, elderly homes, or special needs facilities. Some examples of tasks include: preparing medical equipment, giving vaccinations, assisting with check-ups, drawing blood samples, and triaging to name a few. This trip means a lot to me coming from a medical background and having the opprtunity to provide care and knowledge to others in a country that I haven't been to. Not only will I be able to be exposed to a healthcare system in another country, but I will be able to experience the culture and people of Guatemala.
