My Travel Story

My name is Lethiwe and I have a dream that’s been in my heart since I was a little girl and that dream is to meet my father’s family in Tanzania.

I was born and raised in South Africa with my mom, who is South African and my dad,who is Tanzanian and I am their only child they both have. While I have been blessed to know my mom’s side of the family, I have never met my dad’s side in person.

Recently, I lost my aunt before I ever got the chance to meet her and that broke my heart. Now my grandfather is getting older and I have fear that I might lose him too without ever seeing him, hugging him, or hearing his stories face to face.

This trip means more than just travel to me, it’s about family, roots, and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to connect with my heritage before it’s too late.

Iam raising funds to cover my travel expenses to Tanzania so I can meet my grandfather and my dad’s family for the very first time. Every contribution, no matter how small, will bring me closer to this dream and give me memories I will cherish forever.
