This opportunity will significantly impact my education and career by providing hands-on experience in homelessness support, deepening my understanding of social issues on a global scale, and enhancing my ability to work with diverse communities. By engaging with individuals experiencing homelessness in Athens, I will develop practical skills in advocacy, outreach, and support services that will strengthen my ability to create meaningful change in my future career.

I aim to make a difference in the community by actively participating in outreach programs, offering support, and learning from local organizations about sustainable solutions to homelessness. My goal is to bring back insights and strategies that could be adapted to support vulnerable populations in my own community.

My passion for this project comes from my own lived experience of coming from a low socioeconomic background. I understand the struggles of financial instability and the importance of support systems. This personal connection fuels my commitment to advocating for those in need.

I chose Athens because it has a significant homelessness crisis, particularly among refugees and marginalized groups. I believe that learning from a different cultural context will broaden my perspective and allow me to contribute effectively.

This experience is meaningful to me because it represents personal growth, professional development, and an opportunity to give back. Having never traveled overseas, this journey symbolizes both a new chapter in my life and a step toward making a real difference in the world.
